Baldwin, who served in a similar capacity for three years with Shuffle Master Gaming, replaces Robert Kocienski, who resigned this week to pursue other interests.
He will report to Tropicana CEO Scott C. Butera and will have responsibility for all of the company’s financial affairs. "First and foremost, I would like to thank Bob Kocienski for the very important role he played in our company’s turnaround," said Butera. "I am confident he will continue to find success in the industry.
"At the same time, we are very pleased to have Rich joining our team," said Butera. "As Tropicana continues to grow its operations, it will be critical for us to have a professional with Rich’s skills and experience in public company financial reporting, capital raising and investor relations. He is very well respected in both the gaming and financial communities."
Prior to joining Shuffle master, Baldwin was Director of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations at International Game Technologies and Director of Corporate Finance at Anchor Gaming, a gaming technology and systems company that was acquired by IGT in 2001. Before joining Anchor, he was a Senior Auditor with Deloitte & Touche in Las Vegas.
Baldwin is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and majored in accounting. He is a licensed Nevada CPA.
