Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is planning a dedicated VVIP terminal to cater to high-end visitors travelling to Wynn Al Marjan Island, as the emirate ramps up efforts to boost tourism.
In an interview with Arabian Gulf Business Insight (AGBI), CEO Manish Seth said the project would be developed in partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation, and would include a 1,500-square-metre terminal building, an 8,000-square-metre multi-purpose hangar and a 9,000-square-metre apron and aircraft parking area.
Seth said the facility would feature a royal lounge, four VVIP lounges, and premium hospitality areas designed for discreet, high-profile travellers. Wynn is targeting around one million visitors annually at its integrated resort on Al Marjan Island, reports Inside Asian Gambling.
The comments come after Ras Al Khaimah International Airport surpassed one million passengers for the first time in 2025, marking a 51% increase year on year. Seth said the airport is aiming to reach 1.5 million passengers by 2027, driven in part by the opening of Wynn’s resort.
To accommodate the expected growth, the airport is refurbishing its existing terminal and planning a new facility capable of handling up to 4.5 million passengers.
“The endeavour is to achieve the same feat [as in 2025] in the next two years,” Seth said, referring to the growth recorded in 2025 and the emirate’s wider ambition to attract 3.5 million visitors by 2030. He added that Wynn Al Marjan Island “will help us build traffic”.
According to AGBI, the upgraded current terminal will have capacity for 1.2 million passengers, while the planned 30,000-square-foot new terminal — construction of which is expected to begin this year — will be able to handle up to 4.5 million passengers on its own.
No timeline has been given for the VVIP terminal’s construction.
