Live! Casino Virginia opened its recruitment center Thursday, aiming to hire more than 500 employees for its temporary gaming facility, set to open at the end of January.
The opening included a job fair, drawing long lines of applicants, 12 On Your Side reported. The casino is hiring for roles in facilities, security, surveillance, finance, food and beverage, guest services, and environmental services. The casino is also looking to fill more than 100 table games dealer positions.

“Right now, I’m just looking for people with great attitudes that have a hospitality personality, and we will teach the rest of the technical skills,” said Penny Parayo, senior vice president and general manager.
The temporary facility leads up to a multi-billion-dollar hotel and casino resort scheduled for 2027.

Petersburg Mayor Sam Parham said the project will create jobs and boost the local economy. “My residents here are eager to work and I’m just here to provide these job opportunities through these huge economic development projects that are going to change the course of the city of Petersburg for decades to come,” he said.
The recruitment center is located at 1501 W. Washington Street in the former Pepsi Warehouse. Extended hours are scheduled for Friday, 1 p.m.–8 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Afterward, the hub will operate Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome.
