NOVOMATIC opens state-of-the-art Spielbank Rostock casino in Northern Germany

NOVOMATIC has officially opened Spielbank Rostock, a new state-of-the-art casino offering a modern and sustainable gaming experience in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The casino, located at Petridamm, combines classic live gaming with the latest NOVOMATIC technology across more than 1,300 square meters. 

Operated by Spielbanken MV GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of NOVOMATIC AG, the casino represents an investment of about EUR 8.9 million and has created up to 90 jobs, making it the largest and most modern casino in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The opening event on October 16 was attended by local officials, business representatives, and media. NOVOMATIC Executive Board Member Stefan Krenn and Spielbanken MV GmbH & Co. KG Managing Director Thomas Fritz welcomed attendees and highlighted the casino’s role as a model for sustainable investment and regional development.

At the public opening, guests enjoyed live performances by 4FUN and pianist Maximilian Kraft, along with culinary highlights and entertainment. A key feature unveiled during the event was the BOLD event area, a club and lounge space for live shows, themed evenings, and poker tournaments with up to ten tables.

Spielbank Rostock offers four Roulette tables, two Blackjack tables, two Poker tables, and around 130 NOVOMATIC electronic gaming terminals. The casino’s sustainable design includes advanced insulation, heat recovery systems that reuse terminal waste warmth, and a rooftop photovoltaic system.

The venue operates using the NOVOVISION™ casino management system, integrating all electronic gaming, jackpots, access control, player management, cash handling, and AML monitoring. The system also ensures full compliance with the nationwide OASIS player exclusion database and the highest standards in player protection, security, and compliance.
