The City of Danville is preparing to open a satellite visitor center inside Caesars Virginia in a bid to extend the economic benefits of casino tourism across the broader community.

The proposed 600-square-foot space, located near the spa and pool entrance of the casino resort, will be leased from Caesars for $2,000 per month on a month-to-month basis. The center could open by the end of the year, according to officials.

“We wanted to find a way to better connect with those individuals,” said Corrie Bobe, Danville’s Director of Economic Development and Tourism, to ABC 13 News. “We understand that they will stay and play in the casino and enjoy all of the amenities there, but also we want to introduce them to what else the community and the region have to offer.”

The visitor center will feature merchandise sales, an on-site travel counselor, and digital marketing promoting local businesses and attractions. Additional outreach will include materials placed in hotel rooms, on in-room televisions, and throughout the Caesars property.

“We know that they're not going to spend 24/7 in the casino,” Bobe said. “They want to see what the community has to offer, what is available around it. And as these visitors come in, we want to make sure that our local businesses have the ability to benefit from this influx of traffic.”

Opened in December 2024, Caesars Virginia is a $750 million joint venture between Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. It includes a 90,000-square-foot casino floor with 1,451 slot machines, 100 live-dealer table games, a World Series of Poker room, and a Caesars Sportsbook. The resort also features a 320-room hotel, event spaces, a spa, a pool, and multiple dining options.

In June 2025, the property generated $30.5 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR), topping the state’s three operational casinos. The city of Danville received $1.8 million of that total. Casino revenues have already funded a range of public initiatives, including school funding, police department upgrades, blight removal efforts, and local tourism promotion.
