Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel in Islandia, New York, has released a new video showing progress on its $210 million expansion. The video, posted on Instagram, gives a look at the construction work currently underway.
The 300,000-square-foot project, led by Aurora Contractors, will nearly double the size of the casino, the Greater Long Island reported.
Once complete, the upgraded Jake’s 58 will feature new amenities such as multiple restaurants, a conference center, an exhibition hall, and a concert venue. Plans also call for an ultra-VIP lounge with an outdoor terrace, hundreds of additional hotel rooms, and expanded gaming space.
The expansion will also double the number of video lottery terminals to 2,000 and add more parking. The project broke ground in spring 2024 and is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
Jake’s 58, originally opened in 2017 on the Long Island Expressway’s North Service Road, was established within a former Marriott Hotel. It is now owned and operated by Suffolk Off-Track Betting (OTB), with former New York State Senator Phil Boyle overseeing the project as president of the agency.
Suffolk OTB said it is expecting the project to create over 800 construction jobs and 125 permanent positions. The casino remains open during construction.
