Zitro: "2023 has been an amazing year of growth for us in the United States"

With the latest edition of G2E in Las Vegas (October 9 - 12) now over, Derik Mooberry, CEO of Zitro USA, reflects on the gaming supplier’s participation at the event, highlighting the vast portfolio of solutions displayed and the favorable reception they earned among visitors.

In addition, Mooberry discusses Zitro’s growing presence in the North American market, with the company’s games now live in 13 states; and explains why the supplier has decided to bet on new offices in Las Vegas, a move that the executive says will confirm “Zitro’s commitment to the U.S gaming market.” 

What is your assessment of Zitro's participation in G2E 2023? What was the general response you received from the executives who visited your booth?

This year’s G2E was an amazing event for Zitro. We continue to receive fantastic feedback on our progress as we innovate with new and diverse forms of game content and merchandising of our products.

The design of the booth, its ambiance, and the packaging of the machines, were arranged as if they were installed in a top-tier casino, effectively highlighting the stunning and captivating design of all the cabinets and games on Zitro’s GLARE product line. Without a doubt, we are developing a global brand that is recognized by customers around the world.

During our pre-event interview, you shared that Zitro's presence would be marked by a large number of new games, as well as the importance given to investment in research and development. Were you able to achieve these objectives?

At our G2E booth, we presented 54 games in 13 different bank configurations. This allowed customers to experience the depth of our product range. Among the highlights were our three unique GLARE cabinet configurations, showcasing our commitment to innovation and customization. We also demonstrated the flexibility of our content offering as we showcased the ability to put the same theme in different hardware configurations which allows the casino operator more choices.  

We currently have a dedicated team of over 450 employees working on research and development. In addition to those employees, we recently opened a new Technology Campus in India, where we will further increase our development resources. Our strategic investments have not gone unnoticed, as we are seeing a growing recognition of our role as a global gaming supplier among our valued customers.

What is Zitro's position in the United States, after a year of growth in 2023, and what are the main challenges for 2024?

2023 has been an amazing year of growth in the United States. We started the year operating in just three states, and we now have games live in 13 states. Our goal is to secure licenses in all gaming markets throughout the United States and Canada, and we’re actively working towards that.

Like any company, we face challenges as we strive for growth. The gaming industry is competitive, and casino operators have many product choices. However, with the efforts of our Zitro team from around the world, we are confident in our ability to continue growing in the U.S. 

How does the progressive opening of the online gaming market in an increasing number of U.S. states influence your business plan and strategy? What is the importance of this segment for the company?

We are supporters of online gaming in the United States and welcome the approval of online gaming in additional regions. Our Zitro Digital division has been growing in the international markets, and we recognize the importance of providing our content in multiple channels. While our initial focus in the United States is the land-based sector, you can expect Zitro’s active participation in the U.S. online gaming arena in the future.

What can you tell us about Zitro's new offices in Las Vegas?

Our rapid growth in the United States required us to have headquarters that we could use as our home base. If you are going to be a gaming company in the United States, Las Vegas is the location you want to have as your primary office. We have both an office and warehouse conveniently located near the Las Vegas Strip and airport. 

While we have employees throughout the United States, the Las Vegas office will serve as our primary place of business. This new project confirms our commitment to the U.S gaming market and the prospect we see for continued growth and expansion.
