Intervision Gaming and Game Media Works (GMW) are set to celebrate their 20th anniversary in Las Vegas during this year's Global Gaming Expo (G2E) edition, to be held October 9 - 12. The companies offer slot machines globally and slot machines for the US market (Class 2 and 3 games), as well as distribute the same games online, producing a title per week, with over 200 games in their library.
Owned by Brothers Peter and Demetris Palexas, the companies will be holding a private event for their friends and clients in Las Vegas. The event will coincide with the upcoming G2E edition, where Intervision and GMW will be displaying four of their latest cabinets.
"We are very proud that our development and slot machine companies have reached this symbolic 20-year mark. We began developing slot games out of necessity as we had opened our first casino in Miraflores, Peru (Casino Mardigras, which is still operating today, 23 years later) in the year 2000," recalls Demetris Palexas.
"All our profits were constantly spent on buying slot machines to be able to compete. In those days, participation was not available in Peru and financing was limited. By 2003 we began developing our own games in order to make our business more profitable."
Intervision Gaming is focused on distributing slot machines globally, although it still refers to itself as a "boutique" company. The business is entering new markets as it grows, while GMW manages the software development for both companies. At the moment, the companies have over 100 developers working in Peru and other countries. The Palexas brothers are now based in Miami, Florida, where GMW is gradually growing its presence in the US Market with its Class 2 and 3 slots. But the companies are also eyeing opportunities in other markets: in December 2022, Intervision opened its first AGC (Adult Gaming Center) in the UK, with the brothers "excited" about growing in this market.
GMW also offers online the same slot games that were developed for brick-and-mortar casinos. With a game released every week, the company has developed over 200 online titles.
"We are currently using our fourth-generation platform for physical slots with multiple types of cabinets and progressive products," says Demetris Palexas. "Holding many approval certifications for a lot of our games, we are able to offer our products to many online and land-based markets globally. GMW has created its own online platforms for real and social gaming since 2008, recently launching its Fourth Generation platform which we like to call 4Gen."
The companies will be holding a private event for friends and clients at the Stoneys Saloon from 8 pm. The theme this year will be "Ladies in Red and Men in Black," with the brothers promising the event will be "full of surprises and well-known Vegas acts." At the meeting, the companies will also be displaying some of their latest products.
Speaking about the significance of Las Vegas as the home of the event, Demetris Palexas added: "Las Vegas is an iconic gamblers paradise where many of our friends and work colleagues come to network every year during the G2E expo week.
"Unfortunately, the pandemic affected these gatherings and we missed many of our friends at our last event in 2021. We felt it would be ideal to celebrate our 20th anniversary during this period as many friends will be back in Vegas this year."
