The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) on Wednesday fined Fantasy Sports Games, LLC for offering unauthorized Fantasy Sports Contests, the first fine levied by the PGCB against a firm offering Fantasy Sports Contests.
The fine of $7,500 was the result of Board approval at its public meeting of a consent agreement between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and Fantasy Sports Games.
The regulator argued that the company accepted fantasy contest entries from May 2018 until they began the application process to obtain a license in Pennsylvania in February 2019. Under the Gaming Expansion Act of 2017, operators who offered this type of gaming to Pennsylvanians were mandated to be licensed or be an applicant through the PGCB beginning in May 2018.
