The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has appointed lawyer Ryan Pace to Chairperson of the Board of Governors.
He was made deputy chairman of the MGA last June, as reported by SBC. His new role will be to oversee the strategic development of the MGA and ensure that the set policy and strategic objectives are achieved. He will also be responsible for policy development and overall risk management.
Pace holds a degree in law at the University of Malta, obtaining his Bachelor of laws degree (L.L.B) in 2014, his Diploma of Notary Public the following year and his Doctor of Laws degree in 2017.
He was awarded the warrant by the President of Malta to practice as a lawyer in Malta and has since then practiced litigation in the courts of Malta and Gozo. Pace works with the private legal firm of Prime Minister Robert Abela.
The move follows the appointment of Carl Brincat as the MGA's CEO last January. He is also a lawyer by profession, joined the MGA's legal team in 2014 and was part of the legislative overhaul for the gaming industry in Malta which saw a new regulatory framework being implemented.
