Under a proposal that is part of an update to the state’s deal allowing Native American tribes to run casinos, Arizonas would be able to place bets on professional and college sports at tribal casinos and at sites owned by pro sports teams.

A wide-ranging proposal introduced in the Arizona House on Monday would authorize wagers on professional and college sports betting at tribal casinos and at sites owned by pro sports teams as well as online and fantasy sports wagering.

The bill sponsored by Republican Rep. Jeff Weninger of Chandler would also add limited Keno games at off-track betting locations and social clubs like the American Legion, the Associated Press reports.

Weninger said that if it passes, the proposal will bring an as-yet-unknown boost to state revenue.

Americans make an estimated $150 billion worth of illegal wagers on professional and amateur sports on online websites and apps among other means.
