Detroit casino revenue down 42% in August

All three casinos paid $5.6 million in taxes, down from $9.7 million last year.

MGM Grand reported $28.6 million, down 46%, MotorCity reported $25 million, down 37.5% and and Greektown reported $15.7 million, down 41.5%.

After reopening early in the month at 15% capacity, all three casinos in Detroit reported nearly $70 million in revenue.

That number is down 42% to August of last year, and down 62% year to date from 2019 after being closed for several months, WXYZ reports.

MGM Grand reported $28.6 million, down 46%, MotorCity reported $25 million, down 37.5% and Greektown reported $15.7 million, down 41.5%.

All three casinos paid $5.6 million in taxes, down from $9.7 million last year.

Sports betting also resumed with sports happening, and there was $1.97 million reported in August. MGM Grand had $932,601, MotorCity had $493,275 and Greektown had $551,176.
