The Spanish capital will allow the operation of slot machines once the "state of emergency" expires. The ban will be lifted "automatically, the day following the expiration of the 'state of emergency'. Individual requests by each company will not be necessary."

Madrid suspended the operation of slot machines until the "state of emergency" imposed in the territory to tackle the coronavirus epidemic expires.

The government explained the licenses to operate categories “B”, “C” and “D” machines have been temporarily suspended because since most shops have been closed, they must ensure the "legal certainty" of operators.

Category “A” machines are allowed because they do not grant prizes that can be exchanged for cash or other valuable items.

The ban will be lifted “automatically, the day following the expiration of the state of emergency. Individual requests by each company will not be necessary.”
