French online gambling group Betclic Everest has confirmed that it has withdrawn its entire UK market presence.
Betclic Everest brands – Betclic, Everest Gaming and Expekt – issued communications to players and marketing partners last week confirming their UK market withdrawal effective from 31 October. After the withdrawal date, they will allow limited access to ‘My Account’ areas, allowing customers to withdraw funds and close the player accounts up until 6 December 2019.
The company defines the UK as a ‘very competitive market’ in which its brands have been stagnated by ‘low performance,’ as reported by SBC News.
Moving forward, a restructured Betclic Everest will focus its external European market growth within the markets of Portugal and Poland, launching its first multi-media advertising campaigns for the markets this summer.
Betclic becomes the latest betting incumbent to withdraw its services from the UK market this year, following the departures of 188BET and ComeOn, citing that the UK had become an unfavourable marketplace. In September, EveryMatrix announced it was leaving the UK white label market after the UKGC suspended its B2C license.
