BMM Testlabs, the world's leading gaming testing laboratory and technical consultancy, is proud to announce that The Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission has authorized BMM to test and certify sports wagering systems, kiosks, Internet and mobile applications.
BMM’s COO Travis Foley commented: "BMM is very pleased to have been approved to issue certifications for sport wagering in Iowa. We are now taking supplier submissions immediately.”
“BMM appreciates the support provided by Brian Ohorilko, Administrator of the Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission; Ian Hudson, Compliance Officer; and Tina Eick, Director of Operations. We enjoyed working with everyone at the IRGC. Thank you all for your cooperation and diligence during this process," Foley concluded.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission met last week to approve a final set of rules and regulations for sports wagering and approve license applications made by state-regulated casinos. The rules allow for bets on professional, collegiate and international sporting events.
The new law also legalizes fantasy sports contests and internet fantasy sports betting, but delays betting based on college sporting event statistics until next May. Land-based sportsbooks will soon go live at 18 of Iowa's 19 licensed casinos, and of the 18, at least 15 are expected to have mobile apps to support their sports betting operations.
