Clarion Gaming has partnered with the University of New Hampshire (UNH) School of Law to sponsor and live stream its ‘Future of Regulated Sports Gambling in New England’ Town Hall Event taking place on March 20, 2019 in Concord, New Hampshire.

New England’ Town Hall Event will bring together key lawmakers, policymakers and stakeholders, including RI, MA and NH Lotteries, FanDuel and Wynn Resorts, to analyze the emerging sports betting landscape across a number of states in the New England area, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Vermont.

The UNH event, which serves as an appetizer to the inaugural ICE North America taking place in Boston, USA (May 13-15, 2019), will address the potential implications for individual states, including mobile betting, the growing influence of state lotteries, responsible gaming safeguards, the position of sports leagues and local municipalities’ authorization.

Commenting on the partnership, Ewa Bakun, Director of Industry Insight and Engagement at Clarion Gaming, explained: "New England is a critical market following the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Murphy v. NCAA to overturn the federal ban on state-authorized sports betting. There is a keen interest regarding Massachusetts and other New England states which are expected to consider legalizing sports betting at this year’s legislative sessions. We are delighted to be working with the UNH to promote this event, which precedes ICE North America where we will be continuing the debate around sports betting, the Wire Act, mobile betting, lotteries and much more.

"We are keen to encourage debate about the potential future of sports betting in the United States and working with key establishments like the University of New Hampshire forms part of that strategy,” she continued. “We also look forward to welcoming a number of speakers who will be taking part in panels at UNH to ICE North America in May where they will be able to drill down further as part of our pioneering agenda."

The UNH event will feature key regulators and industry stakeholders across a number of panels which will be streamed live on the ICE North America website as well as the iGB website.
