Paraguay generates USD 1.4 M in gambling revenue

The National Commission on Gaming (Conjazar) collected approximately USD 14.5 million in the period between January and August.

As reported by Paraguay’s government officials, games of chance generated over USD 14.5 million between January and August of 2018. The amount was transferred by Conajzar to the National Treasury.

The amount surpassed by 7.6 percent the accumulated revenue registered during the same period in 2017, in accordance with data provided by the Commission. A 10 percent transfer is made by the Conajzar to the National Treasury, pursuant to Law 1.016/97.

In accordance with the legislation, the Commission shall transfer 30 percent of the total collected to the municipalities, 30 percent to government units and 30 percent to Directorate General of Welfare and Social Aid (Diben).
