Held at Performance Spaces Central Library, the Manchester workshop is part of a series of nationwide workshops for smaller licensed gambling operators.
Local risk assessments help businesses ensure they have considered nearby risks when running their business – such as their proximity to nearby schools and homeless shelters – and the self-exclusion scheme helps consumers who would like to take steps to stop gambling.
Representatives from the region’s smaller operators in the arcade, betting and bingo industry have been invited to attend.
Helen Venn, Executive Director Compliance and Licensing at the Gambling Commission, said: "Raising standards across the whole gambling industry is at the heart of our latest strategy to shape a well-regulated gambling market that works for consumers. These workshops are a really important opportunity for us to engage with smaller operators on a face-to-face basis and to re-emphasise the importance of gambling businesses taking their anti-money laundering and social responsibility requirements seriously."
