Revenue at Detroit's three casinos was up slightly in July from a year ago, the Michigan Gaming Control Board reported Wednesday.

The agency says aggregate revenue for the month was $119.3 million, up 0.3 percent from July 2017. Total aggregate revenue for the first seven months of 2018 was up 1.7 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

July revenues were 0.2 percent higher than June results.

Two casinos posted higher monthly revenues than in July 2017:

MotorCity Casino, which held 34 percent of the market, collected $40.6 million in July, 0.3 percent more than in 2017.
Greektown Casino-Hotel, with 23 percent market share, increased its revenue by 1.8 percent for $27.8 million.
While having 43 percent market share, MGM Grand Casino was the only of the three to have smaller receipts from the year prior, reporting $50.9 million in revenue for a 0.5 percent decline from July 2017.

During July, the three Detroit casinos paid $9.7 million in gaming taxes to the state of Michigan compared with $9.6 million during the same month last year. The city of Detroit recorded $14.2 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments in July, the agency said.
