Malta Gaming Authority releases new gaming framework directives

The Malta Gaming Authority has released its new gaming framework directives.

The Regulations which, together with the new Gaming Act (Cap. 583 of the Laws of Malta), form the new gaming regulatory framework were published in the Government Gazette of Malta, Number 20,028, as Legal Notices 242-249 of 2018.

These Regulations come into force on 1 August 2018 together with the Act.

In addition to the above and in accordance with article 7(2) of the Gaming Act (Cap. 583),the MGA is issuing the Player Protection Directive and the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance Directive as binding instruments establishing more granular detail regarding the specific player protection and the authorisations and compliance requirements, respectively, to which licensees must adhere.

These Directives also come into force on 1 August 2018 together with the Act and the Regulations.
