The state's Senate voted Wednesday 21-15 in favor of a proposed act that would allow for online fantasy sports gambling in the state.

Representative Kirk Talbot's house bill would allow each parish to approve fantasy sports gambling.

As reported by FOX 8, he stated that online fantasy sports could raise money for the state without increasing taxes.

If Governor John Bel Edwards agrees, voters will get to decide on the initiative in November.
