In an exclusive interview with Yogonet.com, the Senior Vice President of Gaming for Latin America provided an insight into the company's performance and future plans regarding the Latin American market as well as an assessment of IGT presence at the 2018 edition of ICE Totally Gaming.

In 2017 you introduced the “Let’s play” concept. What is IGT’s motto for 2018? Which of the products that you showcased at ICE reflect this concept?

IGT’s theme for ICE 2018 “Designed to Entertain” captures the spirit of many of the gaming products and gaming solutions with our ICE stand. Entertainment is at the center of our innovation strategy and it is what our customers and their players know from us.

Among all products and systems that were first showcased in London, which ones adapt best to the Latin American markets? Why?

There are many solutions within IGT’s ICE portfolio that I am excited to share with our customers in Latin America. The CrystalCurvecabinet and its market-attuned library of games is one that really stands out. Several major operators in Latin America already have CrystalCurve cabinets and games on their floors, and early performance is strong. I believe our customers in the region will also embrace the new diversity HD bundles for the AXXIS 23/23 cabinet, the USwitch multi-game offering for our Crystal series cabinets, and the new mix of multi-level progressives within the portfolio.

IGT concluded the year with important installations in Chile. What is the level of investment of Chilean operators? What sort of technologies and game content do they seek?

IGT continues to be a leading supplier for the Chilean casinos. Chile has always been very important for us and we are very happy to receive the trust from our customers in our new products and innovations such as the Crystal Curve and AXXIS 23/23. We are very excited about our latest placements and proud of the good performance from them.

Last year you came to an agreement with Zest Gaming, a renowned video bingo Brand. What was the impact of this partnership in Latin America?

Mexico is a solid market for this type of game. So is Brazil, although it is not regulated yet.

What are IGT’s plans for the video bingo segment?

We have many customers who were pleased to see ZEST’s video bingo products added to IGT’s already robust product portfolio. IGT was the first major supplier to launch a multi-game video bingo product in 2017 in Mexico and the product has been very successful. Should the Brazil market open up, having a successful video bingo library should favorably position IGT for growth opportunities.

What is the calendar of events for IGT, considering both Company shows and third-party exhibits, for this year?

IGT has a full calendar of customer events planned in Latin America throughout 2018. In addition to participating in major tradeshows such as FADJA, Peru Gaming Show and SAGSE, IGT will host a series of more intimate customer events throughout the region.
