The event comes days before the U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear New Jersey’s challenge to the more than two-decade-old Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, a federal law that prohibits sports betting in most states.
Being an academic sponsor of the event shows how far the institute has come over the past couple of years, Lloyd Levenson said. The institute was created in 2010.
Levenson is CEO and chairman of the casino-law department at Cooper Levenson law firm in Atlantic City.
During the event, the speakers will explain critical issues related to the seminal case, and provide a proper legal and economic context.
