In a filing to the Singapore Exchange, the company said the purpose was “development and management of leisure and hospitality businesses” and “provision of administration and resource support including research and market studies, investment and promotion in connection with the foregoing”.
Genting Singapore, a subsidiary of Malaysian conglomerate Genting Bhd, is the operator of Resorts World Sentosa, a casino complex in Singapore.
The firm had previously revealed its interest in investing in a casino project in Japan once legislation is in place, saying it was “closely following” the regulatory changes taking place in the Asian country. In 2016, the casino operator announced it was to dispose of its rights to take part in a Jeju project to focus on other developments, including a potential investment in Japan.
