Guy has taken Crown Resorts and the game manufacturer -Aristocrat Technologies- to the Australian Federal Court in an attempt to ban pokie machines.

“I started playing the pokies when I was 17. Poker machines took over my life for the next 14 years,”  Guy told local media. She said Crown Casino and Aristocrat Technologies, the company which makes the machines, should be held responsible.

Guy pointed out that she wants to make sure that what happened to her doesn't happen to anyone and she would not ask for any type of economic compesation.

Guy's legal team is led by former Federal Court judge Ron Merkel. According to the lawyers, the Dolphin Treasure machine is “misleading and deceptive” and Crown Casino and the machines manufacturer Aristocrat engaged in “unconscionable conduct”.

The team claimed the machines misrepresent possible returns, is programmed to reduce the chance of payouts and disguise losses as wins by trumpeting small wins even when overall losses are made on a “winning spin”.
