The casino mogul said Japan is one of the most sophisticated countries in the world and a great tourist destination, which makes any of these cities a perfect place for its business.

During a special interview published by Nikkei Asian Review website, Steve Wynn said his company is dedicated to building destination resorts and not only casinos.

"For me, the hotel -the resort- is the show. The casino room is a passive, not dynamic part, because every casino table in the world is exactly the same. They have no power," he pointed out.

According to the US-born millionaire, his business is focused in offering high quality and luxury experiences to their guests and not just gambling. "That's what you have to do in Japan: make people come to Tokyo, come to Yokohama, come to Osaka -for vacation, for conventions, for fun. Some will come to gamble. So what? They can do that anyplace," he claimed.

Wynn assured that his property in Las Vegas is "the most successful casino in the United States", but gambling only represents 35% of the total revenue, while non-casino is 65%.

"That's the business I'm in. The non-casino is the cause of the casino."

When asked about what kind of legislation is desirable for an operator, he assured the government has to work as a partner in the business in order to obtain a successful outcome.

"The good news is that this subject has been widely explored, and there are numerous examples of the right and wrong way to do it. It's not a mystery," Wynn explained.
