Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd. wants to relocate the Newton Community Gaming Centre in Surrey to the Delta Town and Country Inn.
The Corporation of Delta recommended the Delta Town and Country Inn as the only suitable site — due to its distance from residential neighborhoods and access to major transportation corridors.
The Newton facility has operated as a bingo hall since 2014, when the BCLC stripped the facility of its 150 slot machines at the request of Surrey city council.
Gateway Casinos will now develop a casino proposal detailing the size, scope and amenities of the Delta Town and Country Inn facility. If approved by the BCLC, the proposal will then be submitted to the Corporation of Delta for its consideration.
