Karl Bennison, Chief of Enforcement, Nevada Gaming Control Board, one of the key note speakers appearing at the inaugural Sports Betting USA, has welcomed the opportunity the historic event provides to “share and evaluate information” in order to make more informed decisions on the national debate surrounding the availability of legalized sports betting in the United States.

Chief Bennison is speaking on behalf of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which has been regulating sports betting for decades.

Speaking ahead of the Clarion Gaming organized event, which will feature many of the leading voices from all sides of the sports betting arena, Karl Bennison said, "This conference is a great opportunity to bring together the interested and/or affected parties, to be educated and have the opportunity to discuss the key issues surrounding the potential expansion of legal sports wagering in the United States.

"Sports wagering and sports integrity are hot topics around the world. This conference is well timed to bring together interested parties and perhaps dispel any misperceptions, get questions answered and share best practices before any big changes are considered or take effect. I look forward to participating in this conference, learning from others and relating how we regulate sports wagering in Nevada, investigate illegal bookmaking and participate in the effort to combat the manipulation of athletic events.”

Expanding on Nevada Gaming Control Board’s discussions with sports leagues and governing bodies, he said, "The interactions we have had with international and some U.S. based leagues have, in my opinion, been beneficial to both sides. There appears to be an acknowledgment that sports wagering is increasingly popular in the United States, and since Nevada has years of successful regulatory experience, there are benefits for U.S. leagues and governing bodies to work proactively and reactively with the agencies such as the Nevada Gaming Control Board and companies involved in legal sports wagering and the investigation of illegal bookmaking and sports bribery related offenses."
