Moyer submitted his resignation this week and said he will leave his position at the end of the month.

“It was only a matter of time until the rest of the country uncovered how special it is here in Siouxland,  and I’m happy to see our community recognized on a national scale as an entertainment destination. This is a boon for our economy, our progress and our growth," Moyer said at the time when Hard Rock Sioux City was recognized as one of the 10 best U.S. casinos.

Moyer's career also includes stops in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Pittsburgh casinos.

The Hard Rock, which opened in August 2014, features more than 883 slot machines and 28 table games. The complex, which also involving renovating the historic Battery Building, also boasts a boutique hotel, restaurants, gift shop and entertainment venues.
