According to a report published by Reuters, Macau's gaming licenses will start to expire in a couple of years. Therefore, the government may start a new bidding process.

Chinese authorities are expected to grant renewals to all six operators, but there has been speculation that they could issue one additional license to a new investor.

Although there are currently no Trump-branded properties in the Asian country, Trump's trademarks in Macau date back to 2005, when he has registered under the names Donald J Trump, DTTM and Trump Companhia Limitada.

Macau's casino operators include Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Resorts, SJM Holdings and MGM China, have reaped billions of dollars from Macau's casino boom.

Gambling revenues in the special administrative region belonging to China surged by more that seven times that of Las Vegas' prior to 2014.
