US tribal casino operator Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment says it is planning to break ground on its South Korean integrated resort project before the end of the year.

“Looking internationally, the company is well into the planning stage of its Korean joint venture, Project Inspire, where we anticipate breaking ground before the end of calendar 2017,” said the company in its third quarter fiscal 2017 results filing.

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, which owns Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, and Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, reported net income of US$ 43.8 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 68.1 percent in the third quarter of FY17.

Net revenues saw an 8.3 percent year-on-year increase to US$ 350.2 million in the quarter.

Project Inspire is the company’s multi-billion dollar integrated resort and casino project to be built at Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
