China lottery sales drop 0.3% in June
In the first six months, lottery sales went up 5.5 percent to 205.03 billion yuan. Among them, sales of welfare lottery tickets increased 3.7 percent year on year to 106.11 billion yuan, while sports lottery sales rose 7.6 percent to 98.92 billion yuan.
Under Chinese lottery management rules, money from lottery ticket sales must cover administrative fees, public welfare projects and prize money.
China's Southern neighbour Myanmar (or Burma as the country is also commonly known) have recently submitted a new lottery bill to parliament.
The bill was submitted by the country’s Ministry of Planning and Finance as it seeks to oversee the operations of the state-owned Aungbarlay Lottery.
The government has also announced that it may seek help from overseas firms in helping the country launch digital lottery sales.
Currently, Myanmar’s Aungbarlay Lottery is a monthly lottery with tickets printed at a printing plant in Wazi.
