The town Planning Board approved a preliminary proposal by Twin River Management Group accepting the blueprint for the construction of the gaming facility.
The approval of the preliminary plan was the last major hurdle for the company. Twin River said it expected to have its final construction plan ready in 30 days.
If the final proposal is approved, Twin River would be able to start building on the site located off Route 24 near the Fall River line.
Both Tiverton and state voters approved the casino project last November. Twin River said the gaming space will feature 1,000 slot machines, 30 table games, and an 80-room hotel and it’s scheduled to open in July 2018.
