Chinas Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) is to strengthen casino security following a shooting incident in a Manila casino hotel, the SAR government said in a statement during the weekend.
The SAR government's Judicial Police will enhance the security in Macao's casino hotels, the statement said.
The casino hotels in Macao are required to increase personnels and equipment for security checks, and enhance their communication with the judicial police in case of any emergencies.
The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau was also committed to strengthening and improving its inspection work.
The statement came after a deadly attack on a Manila casino hotel Friday morning, in which 38 people died, including five Chinese nationals.
