The payout marks the first million-dollar-plus jackpot awarded via Canada’s Powerbucks link, an omni-channel wide area progressive game that links the jackpot prize pool between the land-based, mobile and desktop versions of the game.
“Powerbucks has been offered in Canada since the summer of 2016 and is very popular with customers. We were pleased to finally offer it to Quebecers in our casinos, gaming halls and online, and are delighted that the first progressive jackpot in Canada was won here at the Casino de Montréal,” said Kevin Taylor, Operations President, Société des casinos du Québec.
“The expansion of IGT’s Powerbucks installed base throughout Canada has created significant cross-channel jackpot liquidity and palpable player excitement,” commented David Flinn, IGT Regional Vice President, Canada. “Awarding the first life-changing Powerbucks jackpot in Canada at Casino Montréal marks an important gaming industry milestone and one that our customers can leverage to drive more awareness for the Powerbucks games in their land-based and online casinos.”
