Playtech's PBS entry into the racecourse market comes after sustained success over recent years in the retail space, having seen record-breaking weekends for total turnover and number of bets across its estate of terminals in recent weeks.
The bespoke SSBTs will offer customers at Chester and Bangor the complete PBS product range, including its innovative Racing Post product, which includes a full suite of integrated content, as well as all other major sports including football and tennis.
John Pettit, Managing Director for UK, Ireland, Asia and Australia at PBS, said: “Installing our market-leading SSBTs at UK racecourses is the next step in improving the retail betting experience through digital technology.
“Feedback at the Bangor-On-Dee meeting in April was very positive, with customers enjoying the greater choice and content immediately available to them. We expect this demand to drive SSBTs into more racecourses over the coming months and years.”
Tony May, Head of Gaming at Chester Race Company, said: “We are excited to install PBS’ SSBTs and we will continue to use the latest in technology and betting products to improve our race day experience.
We hope our visitors will appreciate the greatly improved experience these terminals provide, offering a stronger horse racing product with integrated Racing Post content, as well as a full sportsbook offering.”
