As the independent testing lab gears up for another edition of FADJA (April 26 – 27 at Chamarro Entertainment City Hall, Bogota), Karen Sierra-Hughes highlights the virtues of the Colombian gaming market.

The Colombian market has, since FADJA 2016, seen the introduction of new technologies and developments, coupled with several opportunities for international casino operators. Commenting on the exciting period the domestic gaming industry is experiencing, GLI's Sierra-Hughes said, “Colombia is a very progressive jurisdiction, and they have been leaders in embracing new technologies that give operators more options to entertain their guests.”

The South American country was one of the first in the region to implement online gaming regulation. For Sierra-Hughes, “this proves the engagement of the regulatory body to establish stable rules which is attractive for both operators and suppliers.”

For nearly 30 years, GLI has been testing and certifying online gaming platforms around the world. Casino operators, suppliers and regulators may be aware that the company has pioneered independent testing services for customers looking to enter online gaming jurisdicions in Europe, Australia, Asia and North America.

As the first accredited lab in Colombia, GLI believes “there is a great deal of history and knowledge that GLI has brought to Colombia as the jurisdiction moves toward online gaming, and with that knowledge, this new area of gaming could grow at a healthy pace. That being said, as with land-based gaming, it is important for proper regulation and controls to be in place and to be transparent, in order to help maintain the public trust.”
