The European Commission has reportedly okayed the technical framework that would enable Portuguese gambling authority, Serviços de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ), to move forward with plans for shared online poker liquidity with other jurisdictions such as France, Italy, Spain and the U.K.

The development has been a long time coming and is positive news for online poker players and the market in Portugal whose sole licensed operator remains PokerStars, for the moment.
