According to recent data released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, slot machine revenue at the Keystone State’s 12 casinos dropped less than 1% last month.

The PGCB said in a news release combined gross revenue of $209,984,147 in March was 0.60 percent lower than the $211,253,260 received in March 2016.

Revenue at The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township was down 2.94 percent, moving to $19,234,869 from the $19,817,504 collected a year earlier.

Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino, which reported gross terminal revenue of $24,300,436 in March, experienced a 3.21 percent increase over the $23,545,620 it took in March 2016.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington also reported a 3.21 percent jump in slots revenue, moving from $2,653,912 in March of a year ago to $2,738,999 last month.

In a separate report released Tuesday on the impact of slot revenue on the state’s horse racing industry, the commission said slot machine-generated tax revenue of $245 million supported the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development Fund in 2016, which was used to enhance race purses, assist in breeding operations in Pennsylvania, provide health and pension benefits for horsemen and to support agricultural initiatives.

The slots tax dedicated to the industry helps six horse racing tracks operate in conjunction with six casinos in Pennsylvania, including The Meadows Racetrack & Casino.
