BMM’s Kirk White talks about exhibiting at ICE Totally Gaming 2017. During the interview, White explains the significance of attending the annual event in London as well as BMM’s goals for the upcoming year.

It is no news to the industry that ICE is a must-attend event in the gaming calendar, for it sets the trends that will determine the future of the sector. What's been your overall impression of ICE Totally Gaming 2017 and when do you expect to reap the benefits of your participation in the international exhibition?

ICE continues to grow as a major gaming event and was a valuable show again for BMM. This year BMM had many conversations with European and African customers focused on global compliance, as BMM is transferring certified products all over the gaming world for them – the U.S, Macau, Singapore, South Africa, Peru and more. Clients were very positive about BMM's testing services and the high quality KPIs, including our flexible engagement models. It is clear that customers appreciate the enhanced service experience with their products reaching markets faster than ever before.

Do you anticipate any major changes or hope to see any changes to the gaming industry in 2017 that are going to have an effect on the company's operations?

As suppliers look for opportunities to expand their businesses regionally and/or globally this will have a positive effect on BMM because we are truly a global test lab. We have the license coverage to support true global expansion for our customers and can transfer products from market to market efficiently in a cost-effective manner.

One of the hot topics at this year's ICE was multichannel convergence. What is your approach towards the cross-channel experience and why is this a key revenue driver for businesses? What are the main barriers to multichannel success and what is the importance of data?

Innovation in the gaming industry is the key to its continued success and growth. Multichannel convergence appears to be the next phase of supporting a player’s experience and how they experience a game. With content available from many different environments BMM plays its part in the process to ensure that a player’s experience is fair and that their personal data is treated with the highest security. It is the test lab's responsibility to ensure the overall integrity of the gambling experience, no matter what channel the player is on, or chooses to move to.

The culture of gambling is certainly set to change over the next few years and it will be interesting to see if new players will choose to use the convenience and enjoyment of multiple channels for playing their favorite games.

What is the industry lacking today and what can casino operators, gaming companies and regulators do to fill that void? Will the industry see a shift in focus from major casino suppliers over the next year?

From a test lab perspective, the gaming industry has historically had limited choices for testing and compliance services, however this has changed considerably in recent years with many small labs providing services in Europe. BMM, however, is one of only two global labs that are able to serve Regulators and manufacturers across the world. By choosing to work with BMM, manufacturers will benefit by improved bottom line results, excellent support on compliance matters, the fastest testing turnaround times, competitive pricing and personalized account management.

What are your aims for the year and how do you intend to achieve them?

In 2017 BMM will continue to support the industry with the highest quality testing services available in the global gaming market. Internally we will continue to support the growth of our staff and engineers through BMM's specialized program of training, education and our Global partnership with ISTQB. BMM will sustain, and where possible, increase our levels of customer satisfaction. In the end, our customer's success will be our success.
