Macau's Legend Palace to go operational next week, CEO confirms

According to a report from GGRAsia, the disclosure from David Chow Kam Fai, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Hong Kong-listed Macau Legend Development Limited, came on Saturday only days after the firm was granted a license to operate 15 new-to-market mass-market gaming tables along with 91 slots at the 223-room development in the city’s Fisherman’s Wharf district.

Macau Legend Development Limited is also responsible for the 82-table Pharaoh’s Palace Casino inside The Landmark Macau hotel along with a further 51 gaming tables at the nearby Babylon Casino Macau and earlier reportedly declared that its Legend Palace Hotel, which is to offer gambling under a license held by local casino giant SJM Holdings Limited, could feature a VIP gaming room with local junket operator Cali Group set to apply for all of the necessary approvals.

Chow moreover reportedly explained that the casino inside its Legend Palace Hotel is to see at least 46 gaming tables earmarked for mass-market play, which are to consist of the 15 newly-granted units along with reassignments from other properties, and that this should “suffice” for the new development’s operations.

GGRAsia reported that Macau Legend Development Limited additionally operates the 444-room Harbourview Hotel Macau, which it opened in February of 2015, but that work on its planned 500-room Legendale Hotel has yet to start as the company awaits final government approvals regarding the proposed height of the new property.
