Considering this year's edition of ICE a “very special show” for Innovative Technology, Mustapha Hadj-Ahmed talks with Yogonet about the highlights of the events and the current state of the gambling market where “the rise in sports betting machines and VLT’s” seems to be making the difference.

How would you the describe this year's edition of ICE?

ICE 2017 was a great show for us. Our stand was busy all 3 days as visitors came to see our complete product range of cash handling equipment. We used ICE to launch our latest groundbreaking innovation, the NV200 Spectral - the most technically advanced note validator in its class so it was a special show for us.

What were the highlights of the fair?

The main highlight for us was the overwhelming positive response we received about our NV200 Spectral note validator

The unit features sensing technology that scans 4.8 million datapoints, capturing 100% of the note. It’s a real game changer and shows once again that innovation and technology are at the center of everything we do.

TITO is a hot topic in the industry and our ticketing solutions received a lot of interest. Our simulated gaming and redemption demo units attracted a lot of attention, helping customers understand how our ticketing systems can be easily implemented into their machines. Whether visitors were interested in implementing a complete TITO system or simply installing individual components, we were able to demonstrate solutions to suit any specification.

How was the feedback from customers and attendees?

Feedback from attendees was extremely positive. We had people queuing up to see our NV200 Spectral demo, our staff were certainly kept busy with lots of questions about our full range of coin & note handling products and our ticketing solutions.

What product would you say was “the star” of the show? Which solutions generated the most interest at your booth?

The main focus of interest was definitely the NV200 Spectral as the unit was launched to the industry at the show.

We have been demonstrating the units spectral sensing throughout the show and visitors have been amazed at the unit’s capabilities.

What were the industry's hot topics during the event?

TITO seems to be on everyone’s mind with operators large and small investigating ticketing solutions.

The UK and Europe will both see new currency enter circulation over the coming months so updating units to accept new currencies was another hot topic

How would you describe the current state of the gambling market?

The market is growing. The traditional gambling market hasn’t really changed but the rise in sports betting machines and VLT’s is helping the industry to really grow.

On-line gaming is no longer just web based; with players able to use their credentials to play traditional street machines which has attracted a whole new market to the gambling industry.

What is the brand's main focus for this year? What are your business strategies for 2017? Are you targeting new markets this year?

2017 is set to be a special year for us as we celebrate our 25th year in business and continue to grow. Having invested heavily in research and development we will bring a number of new cash handling innovations to the market later this year which will once again cement our position as a market leader in our field, reducing operational costs and maximising cash efficiencies for our customers.

Having recently opened new offices in Asia Pacific we will continue to develop our customer base across the region. Through our own sales offices and global trading partner network we will continue to support our growing customer base whilst reaching new markets with our product range.
