As the world gambling industry readies to participate in ICE Totally Gaming, JCM’s General Manager Payam Zadeh considers the London event “so exciting” because of the “large amount of new and innovative products and systems suppliers large and small unveil at the show.”

Why is it important to exhibit at ICE 2017?

ICE is always a very exciting show, and one that JCM looks forward to participating in each year. One of the reasons this show is so exciting is the large amount of new and innovative products and systems suppliers large and small unveil at the show, and we expect to see a wide range of creativity and innovation throughout the show. That is what makes it exciting. What makes it important is our customers. From across EMEA and around the world, our customers come to ICE, and we relish the opportunity to meet face-to-face, to show them our new products as well as to discuss our product roadmap. Those discussions are critical because they always yield incredibly valuable feedback that we then take back to our R&D teams, helping us to ensure we are always meeting our customers’ demands and helping them with any concerns.

How do you analyze the industry's fortunes last year?

We will let analysts and organization such as AGEM speak for the larger gambling industry; however, from JCM’s perspective, this was a very good year.

Throughout the year and around the world, we had a great deal of success with our iVIZION bill validation solution, bringing speed, accuracy, and the highest levels of protection to operators. Our Ticket2Go continued its very successful run across Europe, bringing new potential for customer service with its retrofit ticketing solution for gaming and AWP devices that do not support standard ticketing protocols.

In Latin America, slot techs benefitted from our technical training on our key products, and we were happy to host sold-out events all over the region

At G2E, we showcased our new FUZION technology, which can help operators unleash new potential by enabling lottery ticket sales and redemption and race and sports ticket sales and redemption right at the slot machine. In addition, FUZION has the potential to facilitate Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) wagering, the casino’s own or a 3rd party’s; conduct cross-enterprise promotional couponing for carded and uncarded players; enable real-time currency exchange with exchange rates that could be preset or could be real-time; and streamline tax forms processes by printing system-generated tax forms. We then ended the year finding new potential by winning 100 percent of the bill validator and printer business at two new, high-profile properties – Lucky Dragon Las Vegas and MGM National Harbor. We are seeing those two new openings as a good sign for 2017, and we wish them and the industry much success.

What new solutions are you presenting this year?

It’s important to begin by saying that for more than 60 years, operators have relied on JCM Global to provide innovative, secure solutions to protect them from counterfeiters and manage cash in the back office.

Now at ICE we will present a broad portfolio of award-winning solutions for casinos, AWP operations, bet terminal market, as well as for back office/cashier area

Our line of bill validation solutions begins with the award-winning iVIZION, one of the most widely used bill validators in the gaming industry. iVIZION outpowers the competition with its CIS technology that sees and captures a full note or ticket and is the foundation for intelligent validation, meaning it is a secure-ROI purchase. Other validation solutions include UBA, iPRO-RC, Vega, Vega-RC and Vega-RC Twin, EBA, TBV, Fujitsu F53/56, and the recently released RDM.

Our printing solutions include the new and technologically advanced GEN5 thermal printer, the CouponXpress coupon solution and the Nippon printer. Our system solutions include Ticket2Go, an after-market TITO solution for AWP operators and the new FUZION, which when combined with iVIZION, GEN5 and the casino’s existing CMS, opens a host of new revenue potential. What all of this means is simple: JCM’ is committed to creating o innovative solutions for the gaming industry to help operators can go beyond transactions to making real customer connections.

June 23 will mark a year since the UK decided to leave the European Union. How do you think Brexit has affected the gambling industry?

There has been no effect on business so far. As for the future, it is difficult to forecast, because it will depend on how the entire process unfolds along with the procedure that are established. So for now, we will wait and see.

How do you analyze the recent decision by Japan to legalize casinos? Do you consider it an appealing market for potential investments?

As one of just three Japanese-owned gaming companies, JCM Global considers this a great opportunity to deliver our world-class products and services in our company’s homeland.

We have been active in many businesses in Japan and have a unique insight into the Japanese gaming consumer. We feel we can be a value-add vendor supplier to both suppliers and to operators in Japan

Brazil in South America is also moving closer to gambling legalization. What is your opinion about this?

Brazil is a highly appealing potential legal gaming market, where many forms of our entertainment have an opportunity to be successful – both Bingo parlors and Integrated Gaming Resorts.

If the proper regulatory oversights are put into place, we suspect that there could be many world class resort built by the major casino operators.

Additionally, with proper oversight, the strategic implementation of Bingo parlors to a broader consumer segment could be very successful, making Brazil one of the largest gaming markets in the world.
