Considering the London show a "perfect time to meet new and existing customers", the Managing Director of Matsui Europe Dave Holt also discussed with Yogonet the opening of new gambling hubs such as Japan and the potential of markets like Brazil.

Why is it important to exhibit at ICE 2017?

We feel that ICE is the most important exhibition in the gaming calendar, as well as our office being based in the UK it's a perfect time to meet new and existing customers and understand their plans for the coming year.

How do you analyze the industry's fortunes last year?

I believe overall it's was generally a positive year. We certainly noticed growth in certain markets and an increase in new casinos.

What changes and news are you expecting given the continuing growth of online gaming?

As we are on the live gaming side, I cannot comment with any certainty about the online side of things. We are now working with more online companies than ever for poker chips and promotional items for example as their business continues to expand.

What new solutions are you presenting this year?

We have increased our established range of chip moulds for Cash, Roulette and Poker Chips along with Plaques, Jetons and Layouts

June 23 will mark a year since the UK decided to leave the European Union. How do you think Brexit has affected the gambling industry?

I believe it is still a little early to tell what the effect will be on the gaming industry.

How do you analye the recent decision by Japan to legalize casinos? Do you consider it an appealing market for potential investments?

As Matsui Head office is based in Tokyo, we are in a prime position to see how this exciting market develops and to be a part of it. I'm sure it will be a very appealing market for any investors.

Brazil in South America is also moving closer to gambling legalization. What is your opinion about this?

We think it's a good thing, as long it's properly regulated correctly by the government. Brazil is a country that's visited by millions of people each year, if gaming is legalized then the economy should greatly improve.
