While no announcement was made regarding the opening ceremony, it is believed it was held earlier this week.
Yantarnaya, which is located in Russia’s westernmost Kaliningrad region, is planning to host 15 casinos, 21 hotels, a water park, theatre, stadiums, concert halls, SPA salons and shops when completed.
The first facility in the gambling zone was slot machine hall Magic Crystal which opened in April 2016.
Last week, the regional authorities issued a gaming licence for operating in the Yantarnaya gambling zone to a Russian company, Uni Gaming.
Overall investments in the zone's development until 2029 are estimated to reach RUB 45 billion (US$725 million).
