CIRSA reports record Q3 revenue

In the third quarter, operating profit exceeded €100m for the first time in its history, reaching €101m, an increase of more than three per cent compared to 2015, while turnover stood at €402.1m

In a statement released this week the company said that it had generated operating income of €1,189.8m – 0.3 per cent more than in the same period in 2015.

CIRSA said that in spite of the strong devaluations of the currencies in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico the company had shown improvements in all of its activities in Spain, allowing it to achieve these results, which had surpassed market expectations

CIRSA ’s casino division was able to increase revenues in all its markets, while bingos halls were able to increase the number of visitors to its rooms, which had a positive impact on profits according to the statement.

In Spain the operation of the company’s slot division continued its upward trend of revenue growth with the market responding favourably to the latest Unidesa brand slot machines. CIRSA created Unidesa – a slot machine manufacturer in 1982.

In Italy the company maintained its position as market leader in the AWP market as well as in the VLT lottery market and in bingo.

The company also reported an increase in sports betting via its Sportium sports betting shops and opened its first sports betting shop in Panama

With the latest results it would seem that the company is poised for another year of continued growth. In 2015 CIRSA reported operating income in 2015 of €1,853m, up 16.5 per cent, with profits of €380m, 15.8 per cent more than the previous year.
