Bowling for Brains is a non-profit organization founded by Steve Aoki, and The Steve Aoki Charitable Fund, committed to raise money to support organizations in the brain science and research areas with a specific focus on regenerative medicine and brain preservation.
This event benefited research institutions emphasizing the application of regenerative medicine to age-related disease and scientists conducting clinical trials to advance new treatments for patients with Alzheimer's, Brain Cancer, Parkinson's, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, and other degenerative brain disorders.
Steve Aoki, co-founder, of BFB shared, “After my father passed away in 2008, I started doing a lot of research on cancer and understanding what killed him. We’re working toward a world where degenerative brain diseases do not exist. … Imagine if we could eradicate that like we eradicated tuberculosis or polio, then we wouldn’t ever have to worry about it again. If we don’t have a brain that’s working, we’re not ourselves.”
To support fund-raising for this charitable event, Rye Park Gaming, table game equipment manufacturer and supplier of custom poker layouts, custom chips and poker tables become an event sponsor by providing a custom Casino Holdem table for the live auction. The table auctioned was a replica of one of Steve’s tables from his private collection. It included custom Steve Aoki felt/layout signed by Steve and came with four-hundred (400) custom chips.
The event was held at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, NV.
