Under the theme 'Gaming Intelligence', Advantech-Innocore showcased a wide range of products at the recent G2E in Las Vegas. In chat with Yogonet, Craig Stapleton said “We had perhaps our most successful G2E ever”.

How did G2E attendees react to your product lineup?

Overall we were very pleased with the attendees’ positive reaction to our produccts at the show. We had perhaps our most successful G2E ever. Certainly we came away with the highest number of new leads and serious business follow up activities this year. We were once again using the theme 'Gaming Intelligence' because it so aptly encompasses our products, our knowledge of the industry and our added value hardware and software solutions. There was a lot of interest in our latest AMD based gaming platform, DPX-S2440, which was the center-piece of our booth, running dazzling 4k graphics content and showcasing a new landmark release graphics card from AMD embedded solutions, the model E9260.

We were also showing an innovative new video wall digital signage player, DS980, based on Intel’s 6th generation Core architecture and capable of rendering high resolution on up to 6 independent monitors at “True 4K” (4096 x 2130 @60Hz) resolution. Several new PC platforms also garnered some interest : AIMB-275 (Intel 6th Generations Core mini-ITX), SOM-9751 (AMD Steppe eagle COM express), SOM-7569 (Intel Apollo Lake COM express) among others. Complementing the wide array of hardware platforms we also showed various of our latest LCD display products including curved LCD monitors in various sizes, touchscreen solutions, player tracking and button deck replacement LCD panels.

What would you say were the highlights of this G2E edition?

The DPX-S2440 with the new AMD graphics card, E9260, is arguably the most “graphics- powerful” gaming platform you can buy and was a highlight for us at the show. As slot machines’ requirements skyrocket for larger screens, higher resolution graphics, the DPX-S2440 can handle it by offering the fastest integrated graphics combined with the ability to fit dedicated discrete graphics cards of the industry-standard PCI-express format. This provides customers with the most scalable and adaptable platform to meet all performance requirements now and into the future. Many customers were interested in the performance of this platform as well as its unique scalability by virtue of the Advantech design and open architecture. Interest was heightened by the fact that AMD also made their launch announcement of the graphics card at the show.

The LCD monitor products were also highlights of the show with a lot of interest from customers.

How is this year going for the company? What is coming next?

We are on track to have a record year of growth for our gaming sector business atAdvantech

Many new projects have come on line and some of our faithful long standing customers have also turned in a great year for sales of their products.

The new design wins that we have achieved in 2015 and 2016 also give us much optimism for the coming several years as those also ramp up. Several new design wins were on show at our customers’ booths at the show this year in Las Vegas and more will be debuted at the ICE Tradeshow in London in Feb 2017.

What new markets are you going to pursue in the coming months?

With our new low cost standard products, DPX-E135 in particular, together with our ability to do custom designs we are now able to offer cost effective products for some markets where we didn’t traditionally have much success. Southern Europe will be a growth area for us as well as Latin America’s several growing markets.

We are hopeful that the market in Brazil will be realized in 2017 although that is still uncertain

We are also hopeful that the VLT market in Greece will get back on track. Our new products and custom design capabilities underpinned by Advantech’s massive buying power and low cost manufacturing due to our in house production facilities in Taiwan and China mean we can expand into new segments of the gaming market (AWP, Street, VLT, sport gaming, lottery) offering customers the technological solutions they need at the price point their markets will sustain.
