In an exclusive talk with Yogonet, Mr. Perea highlighted current industry efforts to draw millennials into casinos, a debate that certainly hit the headlines during this year’s G2E where Fournier managed to meet operators from “all the continents” and secure interesting business operations.

What were the highlights of this year’s G2E?

G2E 2016 indeed met our expectations very much. We expected to meet with a significant number of operators and we did. We managed to gather with operators from all the continents and we managed to close some very interesting operations.

Prior to the show, we thought the Bee-tek Baccarat Electronic Shoe might become one of the big stars of our gaming portfolio and it definitely was. The Baccarat is being highly accepted in several markets where its presence used to be mainly symbolic. We noticed that many operators are seeking to attract Asian gamblers and the Bee-tek Electronic Shoe and the pre-shuffled cards are part of the equipment they use in Macau and Singapore.

We are positively satisfied to offer equipment that meets both players and operators expectations. Operators value the security and higher gambling speed of Baccarat. Players value dynamism, preventing overdraws and other dealing errors.
Furthermore, one of the trends that were discussed at the fair was the creation of products that attract so called “millennials” to casinos. Such trends are especially evident among slots producers who are successfully working more and more in this area.

Where were the operators that visited you at G2E from?

Most of them were obsviously from the United States but we must also stress the fact that we were visited by operators from Mexico, Colombia, Peru, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. Also, from Macau, Korea and Singapore.

Considering Argentina’s new political scenario, how do you thing the market has evolved this year? Fournier cards are again available in the Argentine company Ed Roberts. Why did you choose that company? Are you planning to attend this year’s SAGSE edition in the City of Buenos Aires?

We are very satisfied with current developments in Argentina. The lifting of import restrictions has allowed us to restart our card business through Ed Roberts, a company we set up ties for the first time in 2007. Sadly, few time after import permits turned sales more and more difficult. We never stopped working with Ed Roberts, considering it our ideal partner in Argentina given its access to the country’s casinos.

Our expectation, now that we are restarting our business in the country, is to become again a leading brand for casinos.
And yes, we will be at SAGSE this year.
