Sponsor of the pro-gambling bill that is currently being addressed by the National Development Committee of the Brazilian Senate, Fernando Bezerra, has introduced changes to the original draft postponing the debate for October 19.

Among the amendments is the obligation for gambling venues to keep a register of bets and a record of security camera footages during a period of five years.

Furthermore, the new draft bans officials and their families from operating gambling activities.

Bezerra Coelho also reduced the population number for a town to host bingo halls, taking it from 250,000 to 200,000.

The project also sets a limit to the subsidies that bingos across the country are granted – 10% –, authorizing video-bingo operations in these halls.
